Cena, Punk dispute WWE.com article, Del Rio’s chances in Hell

Cena, Punk dispute WWE.com article, Del Rio’s chances in Hell

Earlier this week, a WWEDescription: http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gifcom article ordained Alberto Del Rio as the favorite for this Sunday’s first-ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, citing The Mexican Aristocrat’s sheer cunning as the reason. (FULL STORY)

Del Rio’s two opponents, WWE Champion John Cena and former champion CM Punk, beg to differ.

“I think you reporters are quite ill-informed. I’m actually quite cunning, and so is CM Punk,” retorted the reigning WWE Champ.

Expanding on the Hell in a Cell comments that he made in a WWE.com exclusive video, The Second City Saint emphatically shot down the notion as well – questioning whether WWE.com has actually been watching WWE programming. “[Del Rio’s] not the most cunning of the three of us, and he sure doesn’t have the advantage,” he said.

Both Superstars were quick to point out Del Rio’s lack of experience inside Satan’s Structure, whereas each Cena and Punk have each experienced firsthand the caustic chaos that is Hell in a Cell. Then again, they also lost their first forays into Hell against Randy Orton and The Undertaker, respectively. And despite Del Rio's brutal actions this past Monday on the Raw SuperShow, Punk wouldn’t waver in his observation.

“He’s never been in the Cell,” he repeated, “and he’s not going to have his announcer, Ricardo [Rodriguez], in there with him.”

Interestingly, neither Punk nor Cena stated that either of them held the advantage over the other going into Sunday’s showdown. The only thing Cena would admit was to feeling at a disadvantage entering The Devil’s Playground as the reigning WWE Champion.

“There are a lot of positives about being a challenger, but not many positives about being the champion any time you’re in in a Triple Threat Match,” Cena observed. “The fact that this Sunday will be the first-ever Triple Threat Match inside Hell in a Cell certainly adds to the uncertainty awaiting us in the ring. The truth is, no one knows how this kind of match will play out within the restricting walls of the Cell; it eliminates any possibility of determining a favorite for Sunday night.”

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 9/26/2011

Posted on 00:47 by Unknown
MONDAY NIGHT RAW
9/26/2011

in KANSAS CITY, Mo. – As Satan’s Structure hung ominously over the ring, WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H struggled to keep WWE Raw SuperShow from becoming engulfed in the flames of chaos, just six days before WWE Hell in a Cell.

WWE Champion John Cena def. Christian by Disqualification; Alberto Del Rio attacked The Champ

A lot of things have happened inside the callous confines of Hell in a Cell, but the WWE Universe hasnever witnessed a Triple Threat Match waged inside The Devil’s Playground. Despite the horrors that surely await him, WWE Champion John Cena had an air of confidence about him as he addressed the WWE Universe about his collision with Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk just six days later.

Cena locked up with Christian in a non-title showdown, but it was the verbal sparring between The Mexican Aristocrat and The Second City Savior on commentary that really enthralled our fans watching the action from home.

The ringside confrontation got physical when Cena threw Christian over the announce table and into Punk. As Punk and Cena stared each other down, Del Rio assaulted The Straight Edge Superstar, then attacked Cena with an enziguri that resulted in Christian’s disqualification. Will Del Rio’s destiny be reclaimed at Hell in a Cell?

CM Punk def. Alberto Del Rio; Del Rio assaulted rivals with a steel chair

In an incredible preview of what is to come this Sunday in their Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio vented their many frustrations with one another as WWE Champion John Cena looked on from the commentary table.

The Voice of the Voiceless sealed a pinfall victory, gaining some much-needed momentum before stepping inside Satan’s Structure. After the match, the Cell itself – which had been hanging above the arena for the duration of the evening – descended upon Cena, Del Rio, Punk and The Mexican Aristocrat’s intervening ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez.

Punk and Cena pummeled Rodriguez with the Go to Sleep and the Attitude Adjustment respectively, then turned their attention on one another – unwittingly giving Del Rio an opportunity to strike. Bashing both Superstars with a steel chair, Del Rio stood triumphant in the ring, giving his Hell in a Cell competitors a taste of things to come less than a week later inside the vile structure.

John Cena: The WWE Champ's 10-count

Posted on 15:40 by Unknown
The WWE Champ's 10-count

John Cena is no stranger to titles, but he is not the type to tally his own accolades. When the West Newbury, Mass. native defeated Alberto Del Rio at Night of Champions, he became a 12-time World Champion and reached a milestone that may never be equaled: winning his 10th WWE Championship.

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: JOHN CENA'S 10 WWE CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORIES

1. APRIL 3, 2005John Cena wins his first WWE Title at WrestleMania 21
As WrestleMania 21 went Hollywood at the STAPLES Center, Cena won his first WWE Championship from the double-tough Longhorn Loudmouth, JBL with an Attitude Adjustment.

2. JANUARY 29, 2006
At the 2006 Royal Rumble in Miami's American Airlines Arena, Cena regained the WWEChampionship he lost to Edge just three weeks earlier. The Rated-R Superstar had cashed in the first-ever Money In The Bank contract at New Year's Revolution, moments after an exhausted Cena had just retained the title within the Elimination Chamber.

3. SEPTEMBER 17, 2006
A Toronto crowd was evenly split in their allegiance as the hometown favorite, Edge, lost the WWE Championship at Unforgiven in a match he pioneered; Tables, Ladders and Chairs. In handing the Rated-R Superstar his first-ever TLC Match loss, Cena used an Attitude Adjustment from atop a ladder to send Edge crashing through stacked tables. John Cena AA's Edge from atop a ladder at Unforgiven 2006.Cena would hold this particular WWE Title for more than a year before ultimately having to relinquish it due to injury.

4. SEPTEMBER 13, 2009
After chasing Randy Orton for months, Cena finally captured his sixth World Title in Montreal's Bell Centre, trapping The Viper in the STF at Breaking Point and making him scream “I Quit!”

5. OCTOBER 25, 2009
Beaten but not broken after losing the title to Orton inside Hell in a Cell, Cena received his WWE Championship rematch in a grueling One-Hour, Anything Goes WWE Iron Man Match at Bragging Rights. Forget Iron Man - it seemed all of TheAvengers combined couldn’t stop Cena once he entered Pittsburgh's Mellon Arena!

6. FEBRUARY 21, 2010
With Elimination Chamber experience on his side, Cena captured the WWE gold within the steel structure after outlasting former champion Sheamus, Triple H, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston and Ted DiBiase. John Cena captures the WWE Title at Elimination Chamber 2010.The victory in St. Louis' Scottrade Center represented the shortest title reign in Cena's history, as Batista has been granted an impromptu match moments later and took the championship from Cena's prone, unconscious body.

7. MARCH 28, 2010
With the brightest spotlight in of all entertainment upon him at WrestleMania XXVI, John Cena bested “The Animal” Batista at the University of Phoenix Stadium, winning his seventh WWE Championship in a match the WWE Universe is still buzzing about.

8. MAY 1, 2011
At Extreme Rules in Tampa's St. Pete Times Forum, John Cena defeated both titleholder The Miz and the gravity-defying John Morrison in a Triple Threat Steel Cage Match. The Superstar who was once known as the "Dr. of Thuganomics" was now becoming recognized as WWE’s man of steel.

9. JULY 25, 2011
Upon winning the WWE Championship declared vacant after CM Punk’s WWE contract expired while The Second City Saint was still the titleholder, Rey Mysterio defended his first WWE Championship the same night he won it: on Raw, in Green Bay, and against John Cena. Despite almost pulling off the upset, defeating both The Miz and Cena on the same night proved too much for Mysterio, and Cena’s WWE Championship reign count had climbed to nine.

10. SEPTEMBER 18, 2011John Cena wins 10th WWE Championship at Night of Champions 2011
Cena lost the Undisputed WWE Championship Match to CM Punk at SummerSlam as a result of referee Triple H’s bad call. He then witnessed Kevin Nash’s shocking return to WWE as the 7-footer powerbombed Punk after his monumental victory. To make matter worse, Cena could could only watch in disbelief as Alberto Del Rio finally fulfilled his self-professed destiny by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and defeating a barely conscious CM Punk. However, at Night of Champions, there would be no controversy in Buffalo, N.Y.'s First Niagara Center - Cena decisively defeated The Mexican Aristocrat, and cemented his place in history as the first and only 10-time WWE Champion.

If Cena Breaks Record: Chavo Guerrero will stop watching WWE

Posted on 23:34 by Unknown

"Guerrero Vows To Stop Watching Wrestling If Cena Breaks Record"

John Cena closed in on Ric Flair’s record 16 World Title reigns with his victory over Alberto Del Rio Sunday night at Night of Champions. The master of the Five Knuckle Shuffle has now won 12 World titles; the WWE Championship a record 10 times and the World Heavyweight Championship twice.

Cena’s latest World Title victory has former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero steamed as the third-generation grappler has vowed to stop watching professional wrestling if he breaks Naitch’s legendary record.

He stated Monday night on Twitter, “If Cena brakes the great Ric Flair’s 16 time champ record, I will never watch wrestling again. I call a boycott of Cena matches if he does!”

Guerrero also asked his Twitter followers, “How many of u are tired of John Cena being champion? Don’t get all excited, it’s just a question.” He wrote moments later, “Wow…it’s an overwhelming “tired of Cena” response! It’s not me, it’s all the fans. I could literally retweet hundreds of tired responses!”

Guerrero continued, “Now, my opinion…Cena is better than me on the mike, but I could out wrestle Cena with my eyes closed and 1 hand tied behind my back! Truth!

“Some are saying that Cena is a great athlete. Really? C’mon. Are u blind? I know Cena & I could beat him in any sport except weight lifting!

“Golf, basketball, bowling, a race, tennis, horseshoes, hitting a baseball pitch, catching a football…anything!!!!

“Lol…some1 just said Cena is a better athlete than Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior! Lol are u retarded? No offense to a challenge person.”

-This isn't the first time Chavo ran his mouth about John Cena on his twitter.

WWE Championship Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match

Posted on 02:14 by Unknown

WWE Championship Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match

Over the course of his 10 reigns as WWEChampion, John Cena has come to learn many of the hardships that come with holding that coveted title, but The Champ has never dealt with anything quite like this. For the first time in the brutal history of the Hell in a Cell Match, three Superstars will enter the unforgiving steel structure for a dangerous Triple Threat bout — and Cena’s WWE Championship will be on the line.

Two weeks after defeating Alberto Del Rio to win the title at Night of Champions, Cena will once again lock up with the underhanded Mexican Aristocrat, but this time the controversial CM Punk will be a part of the mayhem.

It’s a three-way showdown the WWE Universe has been waiting to see since the conclusion of SummerSlam in August. On that sweltering night, The Straight Edge Superstar beat Cena to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship, but was immediately defeated for the title by an opportunistic Del Rio, who was cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase.

Immediately after the evening’s contentious events, WWE fans took to FaceBook and Twitter with one question — which Superstar deserved the rematch? Was it Punk since he was the last champion? Or did both The Second City Savior and Cena deserve bouts with Del Rio since they were both technically titleholders?

Ultimately, the West Newbury, Mass. native received the championship opportunity and made the best of his opening by beating the Mexican Superstar — but where did that leave CM Punk? Amid the confusion and conspiracy theories of his bitter war with Triple H and Kevin Nash, The “Voice of the Voiceless” clearly had other scores to settle, but at WWE Hell in a Cell on Oct. 2, he’ll get the rematch he rightfully deserves.

With both CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio coming for his WWE Title inside Satan’s Playground, John Cena is in an unfamiliar position — the underdog spot. Can The Champ retain his cherished prize in the face of two hungry competitors and one seriously dangerous structure?

Order WWE Hell in a Cell exclusively on pay-per-view on Sunday, Oct. 2 to find out.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS 9/19/2011

Posted on 01:19 by Unknown
MONDAY NIGHT RAW
9/19/2011 in CLEVELAND

Triple H announced WWE Champion John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. CM Punk in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match, promised to fire someone

Triple H was steamed. Less than 24 hours earlier, at Night of Champions, WWE’s Chief Operating Officer competed against CM Punk. Although he prevailed in the bout and retained his position as COO, The Game was nonetheless furious about how it all went down. Not only did The Miz & R-Truth attempt to interfere in the bout, an already terminated Kevin Nash marched through the crowd and amubushed both men.
Perhaps feeling badly about how events transpired the night before, Triple H informed his now respected rival, Punk, that he was being included in a Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match against newly crowned WWE Champion John Cena and Alberto Del Rio.

The Voice of the Voiceless appeared pleased to hear he would receive a title opportunity in two weeks, but he was hardly finished making a statement. He began to expound on who he thought was behind the odd incidents of the previous several weeks.

Before Punk could reveal the full extent of his hypothesis, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis emerged. The Second City Savior then explained that he felt the Executive VP was the mastermind behind the shenanigans. When The Game asked Laurinaitis if Punk was telling the truth, however, Laurinaitis appeared evasive. When Executive VP attempted to fire the anti-establishment Superstar, Triple H immediately reversed the decision. WWE’s COO did insist, however, that by the end of the night someone would be fired.

WWE Champion John Cena & CM Punk def. The Miz & R-Truth

Before WWE Champion John Cena and CM Punk join Alberto Del Rio in a first-ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match in two weeks, the pair teamed up to face The Miz & R-Truth in the night’s main event match.

The contest was arranged by WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H as punishment for the two attacking a referee as well as The Game himself at Night of Champions. The two conspiracy theorists appeared to be putting up a respectable offense against their formidable foes when The Second City Savior delivered a grave GTS to The Cleveland Screamer in his hometown to lay him out for the victory.

After the bell, The Game emerged to wish one Superstar the best in their future endeavors. Actually, make that two Superstars. The Game fired both Miz & Truth, who looked gutted by the decision.

As “The Awesome Truth” absorbed the news, they grew enraged and attacked Triple H from behind in the locker room area. As they lashed out on the COO, various Superstars broke up the ruckus and tossed Miz & Truth from the arena.
